Our new pilot workshop aims to increase accessibility in health technology by inviting people with disabilities to share their experiences.
We have the power to change the world for adults with developmental disabilities, but we need their help to do it.
Innovative health technologies can be lifesaving and life-changing for those able to use them. Adults with developmental disabilities stand to benefit more than anyone from the promises of consumer health technology, yet these technologies are not designed for them and are often difficult for them to use. At Sidebench, we’re driven by the power and accessibility of technology. We recognize and accept the challenge to incorporate a larger range of user experiences into technology design.
In this effort, we are excited to announce a new collaboration with WITH Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting comprehensive healthcare for adults with developmental disabilities. Jointly, we will be hosting a pilot workshop on March 22, bringing designers and developers together with people with developmental disabilities to facilitate opportunities to hear their needs and perspectives, and ultimately, to build new technologies for forward-thinking accessible design. Learning directly from people with disabilities enables the power in us to change their world, and encourages us to enrich our own lives and work with new perspectives and more effective solutions.
We look forward to sharing insights from the pilot with you.
