Healthcare Platform

Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) is a not-for-profit Medi-Cal and Medicare health plan that provides comprehensive health care coverage to more than 1.2 million Inland Empire residents. Armed with a network of more than 6,000 providers and 2,000 team members, IEHP is the largest health plan in the Inland Empire and one of the fastest-growing health plans in the United States.

Business Case

While Medi-Cal and Medicare health plans are government funded, IEHP strives to offer premium services to its subscribers that are comparable to high-end health plans. To help elevate their service offerings to fit IEHP’s high standards for patient care, and to ultimately empower patients to be proactive about their health, IEHP decided to build a bilingual mobile app that gives members access to prescriptions, authorizations, claims, lab results and more.

Solution

Our team designed a solution that aligned with IEHP ’s branding and the user base’s need for a simple and easy-to-access mobile solution with minimal flashy styling. The mobile app allows health plan members to conveniently access vital health information.

With this app, IEHP members can easily view their health records, check information related to their physician, look for relevant doctors in the area, download a temporary ID card, manage their medical claims and a lot more on using their smartphone.

In order to best accommodate IEHP’s Android centered, bilingual user base, Sidebench developed the app for Android first, followed by iOS, and effectively implemented both Spanish and English copy for user testing.
