SIDEBENCH ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNER
AND VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCT
Christopher Brereton joins the high-growth product studio, Sidebench, bringing 15+ years experience building and scaling powerful technologies.
SANTA MONICA, CA, June 25, 2020 – Sidebench, LA’s premier custom technology studio, today announced that Christopher Brereton is joining as Partner and Vice President of Product. Sidebench, which recently celebrated eight years of innovation, is tackling some of the most complex challenges in healthcare and social impact for companies like Children’s Hospital LA where they designed and deployed the NICU Navigation app that won the 2019 American Hospital Association Innovation Challenge. In this new role, Brereton will apply his deep entrepreneurial background and operating experience to develop world-class product and client experiences.
Reporting to Sidebench’s Founder and CEO, Kevin Yamazaki, Brereton will be responsible for leading all day-to-day operations for Sidebench’s Product, Product Design, and Engineering efforts, including implementing the company’s strategic roadmap, driving corporate innovation projects, and incubating internal and startup innovations.

Brereton has over 15 years experience as both a founder and executive for product-driven organizations. He joins Sidebench from Inspire, a clean energy technology company, where he served as Vice President of Product and scaled the product team from 1 person to 8 people and led the development of a revolutionary new experience connecting residential consumers to subscription clean energy, smart devices, and a mobile app to drive energy efficiency that boasts the industry’s highest NPS.
Prior to Inspire, Chris co-founded Thematic, a platform that connects musicians and content creators and helps them monetize and build their fan bases through scalable music licensing and usage tracking. Brereton also founded PwrdBy, a mobile-first platform that enables nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Miracle Network, and Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs amplify their missions, and led a product line for LA’s leading SaaS platform, Cornerstone OnDemand, transforming their LMS into a B2B2C learning platform for clients like Amazon and KMPG.
